1. Blackboard tools:

• Assignment tools – digital submission
• Grade Center – managing grades and feedback to students
• Tests – how to create and manage online tests
• Survey – how to create and administer online surveys
• Discussion Board – how to create, sort and review forums
• Groups – setting up groups and using collaborative tools
• Wimba Voice Tools – voice emails, voice chats, voice discussion forums, etc.

2. Additional tools – I will show these fairly quickly (I offer 2-hour workshops for instruction)

• Blogs – online personal journaling tool
• Wikis – web-based collaborative tool for links, graphics, documents; can create various pages
• Adobe Presenter – plug-in for PowerPoint used to narrate presentations and create a Flash movie
• Podcasting – ASU offers iTunes U to instructors – a specific channel for each class to house Podcasts
• Media Manager & Instructor Volumes – 2 options for storing (streaming) video files
• Google docs – used for sharing document

This workshop will give some detail for item #1 above (Blackboard tools) and provide only a glimpse of item #2 (Additional tools).
